2012 MIBF in photos

Sorry it’s taken me so long, the bug I caught last month seems to be on a cruel relapse. That, and a surprise in my next post! (I can’t wait to click publish on that one!) Anyway, here’s the rest of my MIBF experience, in photos.

Wish you were there!

And the Book Fair Bandit strikes again…

I seem to have caught a bug at the MIBF — I’ve been laid up for the past week with a nasty respiratory tract infection. But no one will believe my Book Fair purchases amounted to just one post, so here it is, finally, Part 2 of my MIBF loot!

Book Bazaar, we meet again…

As the Christmas rush set in early for me, starting with the annual Flips Flipping Pages Christmas party (I’ll tell you more about that soon!), I nearly forgot about the National Book Store Christmas Book Bazaar at Market! Market!, which I’m happy to see is becoming an annual event.

I had work lined up all day with a client in the area the other day, and I suddenly remembered I hadn’t been to the Book Bazaar yet, so I braved the rush hour after work and headed there. I apparently did not think it through —  I didn’t have a lot of cash on me and I was loaded down with my “portable office” consisting of my work bag and laptop bag —  hence I had to limit myself to the one basket (I swear!) that I could carry, but I think I still made out like a bandit with the lovely loot I scored.

And so I was in retail therapy mode this evening when I went on my first NBS Cut-Price Sale recon mission.

I don’t think they’ve unpacked everything yet, because there was just one table outside and a couple half-tables inside the store (that means I shall return!), but nevertheless, the loot was awesome!

The Week in Loot

In case you’re wondering why I haven’t posted in the past few days, it’s because I’m trapped in the holiday frenzy — Christmas shopping to complete, presents to wrap, parties to attend and the horrible city traffic. Plus the dawn masses have started and I wake up at 4am to go, so I’m running on very little energy at the moment. Hopefully normal blogging resumes after Christmas, but I’ll try and post more before then.

Anyway, I was supposed to be shopping for books on other people’s wishlists, but they’ve been elusive so far, and I’ve illicitly gone a-looting for myself (I promised not to buy any more books for myself until Christmas, but I’ve given up on that) because well, the holiday stress was getting to me and book shopping is therapeutic (and yes, I have no self-control)!
