Weekend at the 32nd Manila International Book Fair

As you can probably tell, I’m totally zonked from five days of the MIBF — I think I was there from opening to closing time nearly everyday!

Well, you’ve seen half of my loot — and there’s more to come, but in the meantime, here’s the weekend I spent at the 32nd Manila International Book Fair!

with PBBY chair Zarah Gagatiga (photo from her iPod)–
I was finally able to give her the books for her birthday book drive

finally got to interview Alexander Yates (and you’ll read all about it this week)

caught Tado and Stanley Chi at the PSICOM booth…

and look what Stan made:

bookfair comics! Check out Stan’s MIBF adventures on his website.

My feet were killing me, and my shoulders were sore,
so I got a 15-minute Waki massage (and some reading time)
at the My Wellness Program health and wellness fair upstairs.

I was also finally able to get my Chulalongkorn’s Elephants signed
by Ambeth Ocampo! (I went to his lecture at the Ayala Museum —
will tell you about it in a blog post about that this week, too.)

I’d been stalking Doraemon and Nobita since Saturday, and was finally able to
take photos with them on Sunday!

Also caught Before Ever After author Samantha Sotto, enjoying her first MIBF right before
she flies to Singapore for her book tour. She got a copy of my book for her kids! Yay!

and my last agenda for MIBF: live chat with Rachel Ward (more on that later this week, too!)
Lucked out at the raffle and won a signed copy of Numbers!

Went on a book-shopping rampage on Sunday night when I saw new stock coming out over at the NBS bargain bins. Will show you the loot in my next post — overwhelmed by the sheer number of them! :p

Hope you had fun at this year’s MIBF!

    1. Hi Rachel!!! Thank you so much for dropping by. It was lovely to talk to you, too!

I’ve actually read both books already, but getting a signed copy is another pleasure altogether! :) Squee!
