A bookworm in Hong Kong, Part 1

I was clearing space on my laptop tonight, and I realized I haven’t properly blogged about my vacation in Hong Kong a few months back, other than that Winnie the Pooh ride and the Little Prince ceramic cup I got from the airport.

The months have flown by in a blur — I can’t believe August is ending! But because I’d give anything to get away right now (I need this upcoming long weekend to recharge), here’s a photoblog of my trip.

First day NBS Cut-Price Sale loot!

Yesterday was the first day of the annual National Book Store Cut-Price Sale, which runs until Aug. 21 across all National Book Store branches.

All day yesterday I’d been stewing restlessly over my laptop, which got frozen in sleep mode the night before and then refused to wake up. The Cricket in Times Square

I’ve been seeing The Cricket in Times Square ever since the librarians let me sneak into in the “big library” when I was in first grade (the primary levels in our school used to have a separate kiddie library), but somehow I never got to read it, not until I found the audio book at the bargain bookstore.

I can’t listen to an audiobook without having read the book first, because my attention tends to drift away after a while, and I end up tuning out the sound. I wanted to listen to the Cricket audiobook because the box said it was narrated by Tony Shalhoub, so I dug out the wornncopy of the book I had lying around in Planet TBR and decided it was finally time to give it a shot.
