Best and Worst

And I’m back! Finally, order has been restored in my little corner of the world. I apologize for the sporadic blogging — the year had a crazy start: I’ve been battling with a bad allergy for over a month (subsiding now, thank goodness, after a small fortune spent at the drugstore and a huge pile of specialized creams and beauty products); one of my biggest campaigns kicked off at work; and the family marked a major event: my 48-year old uncle’s wedding!

I feel like the year is just beginning on my blog (and technically, it is…), so here’s a recap of my best and worst reads for 2010:

BookMoochers Saturday

After my interview with Lauren Kate, I spent the rest of the Saturday with friends from BookMoochers Pilipinas (the group for Filipino BookMoochers) at the Libreria Bookstore in Cubao X for our year-end get-together.

Traditionally, BookMoochers Pilipinas gatherings were held at Triccie’s house, but since Triccie opened her bookstore, we’ve been hanging out at Libreria. And you know what? It’s just as homey!

Filipino Book Bloggers’ Meetup!


When the Filipino Book Bloggers first met up back in September, I sorely regretted not being able to attend, so I was looking forward to attending the next one. Thankfully it was scheduled at a date that agreed with my schedule, and I was able to make it this time.

When the group was trying to decide on a venue, I suggested our BookMooch friend Triccie’s newly-opened store, Libreria. It seemed the perfect place for us to meet — it has enough space to hold us all, it serves good coffee but we wouldn’t have to struggle to get heard over the normal din of a busy coffeeshop, it’s relatively accessible to people from different parts of the metro, and best of all, we would be surrounded by books! I was glad the others were willing to give it a try.
