Sneak peek: the 32nd Manila International Book Fair!

Are you all ready to go to the 32nd Manila International Book Fair tomorrow?

Got a sneak peek tonight, at the opening ceremonies for the MIBF.

I know y’all are excited to see the photos, and I want to go soak my feet in a tub of warm water, so without further ado…

Get ready for five days of books, books, and more books at the MIBF, from September 14-18 at the SMX Convention Center, SM  Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

main entrance

Ribbon cutting. From left: Irene Lloren, president, Primetrade Asia, Inc. (MIBF organizer);
Xandra Ramos-Padilla, merchandising director, National Book Store (MIBF exhibitor);
Lirio Sandoval, president, Book Development Association of the Philippines (BDAP);
Tinette Capistrano, vice president, Primetrade Asia, Inc.

don’t be surprised to see David Pomeranz at the book fair —
he’s promoting “Dianetics” by L. Ron Hubbard

and a peek inside the exhibition halls, of course!

Note: bargain bins all around the NBS booth! (SQUEEE!)

In case you’re wondering, no selling happened tonight, so you can rest assured I did not have first dibs on MIBF loot (tomorrow is another story, though :D).

It’s only a few more hours’ til the Manila International Book Fair, and yes, the 1st Filipino ReaderCon, and it’s shaping up to be an even more awesome book fair this year!

Now, let’s all get a good night’s rest — we’ll definitely need it for the next five days.

See you at the MIBF! :)

  1. Hi Blooey! Hello from the US, we arrived home last night. I really enjoy your blog here, and thanks for the picture, it’s a good one. We barely had room for everything we brought back from Manila, and David had a great time too!
