Insert coin: it’s Pac-Man!

I’ve really been enjoying my 18-month Moleskine planner. I used to run through planners sporadically, but in the past months I’ve been using my planner to map out my blogging schedule (more than anything else, but there’s also work, and my reading list, and book club activities), and it’s really been a big help in reaching my blogging targets.

I’ve been sprucing it up to make my work week more interesting so it’s quite an explosion of color these days. I even have special pens for the planner — Dong-A playon color pens, with a pen tip and marker tip at either end, because the ink is the perfect consistency for Moleskine paper (no blots!).

The doodles have been overtaking my planner, and I thought it was about time I had another Moleskine just for doodling!

And I found this — the limited edition Pac-Man 30th Anniversary Moleskine! The ruled black hardcover is cute with the colored details embossed, but I zeroed in on the plain (unruled) hardcover notebook embossed with the classic Pac-Man maze. I’ll be using this mainly for artwork, anyway, and it’s  a cool eye-popping yellow!

(Haha, I remember when I used to bicker with my older sisters for my turn at the Atari to play Pac-Man! I was barely out of my diapers then!)

Lookee:

brilliant!

my first doodle- the nameplate! and aren’t those the cutest stickers?

Ready!

Nifty, ain’t it? I’ve been meaning to get back into drawing this year, as I seem to be undergoing a funk in my artwork. Hopefully this stirs up the creative juices and helps me move on in that aspect. Will share some bookish doodles with you from time to time.

There’s a whole line — pocket and large hardcovers, plain and unruled, and a set of four colorful large Volant softcover notebooks  in yellow, fuschia,  blue and red — exclusively available in select National Book Store branches, and of course at the Moleskine Flagship Store at NBS Greenbelt 1. They’re all festooned with the retro pixelated imagery of the well-loved game: Pac-man, the ghosts, fruit, and yup, the taglines “Ready,” “Game Over,” “Insert Coin,” and “High Score.”

Meanwhile, let me get back to transcribing my interview with Vikas Swarup; I’ll tell you all about it this weekend!

  1. This is gorgeous! As are your doodles, I’d love to have a Moleskine planner but I’ve never broke down and bought one. Perhaps for 2011 I will to keep track of blogging. I could use a place to write down ideas.

    1. Thanks Ash :) I found that calendaring my posts really helps me keep my blog updated. Plus the moleskine planner has enough room for me to brainstorm!

    1. If you’re in NBS, look for the Dong-A play-on markers — they’re fab on moleskine paper. and cheap too! P19.75 each, and double tip!
