Ex-Libris Philippines’ Concert for a Cause

Just a short plug about a fundraising project initiated by Ex-Libris Philippines, a SEC-certified, non-stock, non-profit organization of book enthusiasts. Concert for a Cause is Ex-Libris’ 3rd fundraising project; their first two fundraisers have sent deserving but financially challenged students to school at  the University of the Philippines, Diliman.

Concert for a Cause features performances by soprano Gabriela Francisco (BM Voice Summa cum laude and Valedictory Address Speaker during the UP Centennial Commencement Exercises 2008), her twin sister Tata Francisco, together with faculty, alumni and gifted students of the UP College of Music. All funds to be raised will go to the Scholarship Project. The concert will be on May 21, 2010, Friday, 6 p.m. at the UP College of Music, Nicanor Abelardo Hall.

Tickets are at Php 300.00 each. For tickets, please contact Tata Francisco at 0920-9470861, or Gabi Francisco at 0920-9470835. You can also email them at teachertata[at]gmail[dot]com, or gabitwin[at]gmail[dot]com.

A peek into my Moleskine Passions Book Journal

And I’m baaaack!

Pardon the blogging hiatus — I’ve been out of town frequently for the past month, not to mention the overhaul I had to do (still not finished!) on the back end of this blog. The new theme takes some getting used to, but it’s growing on me, and I’m too exhausted from trying out several dozen themes and coming up with zilch. I still have to tweak my widgets, but I’m settling on this look for now because it’s eaten up a lot of time I could have spent blogging.

So anyway, I promised to let you peek into my Moleskine Passions book journal when I got it back from Fully Booked after they reproduced it for the Moleskine Passions “Share the Loves of Your Life” exhibit, and tadah, they gladly obliged (thanks Ms. Aimee!).

Another bunch of bookmarks!

A few months back I spotted a bunch of bookmarks at my favorite bargain bookstore, and practically bought out the stock. It also gave me a hankering to start collecting bookmarks, so now I’ve got a small collection going.  (Ironically, I just keep them in a fancy box and don’t actually use them as bookmarks because I know I’ll end up losing them!)

A couple of weeks ago, to my delight, the bargain bookstore had a fresh batch of Antioch bookmarks (the tasseled ones!) on hand, so I got a whole new bunch of them!

Here they are:

Counting

Because I’ve just gotten through my 2009 backlog, I realize the end-of-the year summary is in order.  I’ve been blogging for over a year now, and I can’t believe how fast it’s gone! Blogging been an awesome experience (and I was a finalist for the Philippine Blog Awards, too!) that led to new friends and new discoveries, and I’m sure this year will be even more fun.

Here’s 2009, in figures… and photos!
