I’ve been lurking around National Book Store Greenbelt 1 for some time now, because it was under renovation for a few months. It’s one of my favorite branches — I ‘ve been going there since I was a kid — because it’s nearest my house, it’s not overcrowded, it has all the supplies I need (heavy gauge plastic cover, a large pen selection, an expanded art section), and it always has a corner for bargain books.
Tonight I finally found out what they were keeping under wraps: the Philippines’ flagship Moleskine Shop!
I’ve been a Moleskine user for years now (watercolor pad, cahiers, and recently, my Moleskine Passions book journal), and I must say, there’s no beating the quality of a moleskine, from the handcrafted leather, the acid-free paper, the sturdy back pocket, and the signature garter band and ribbon bookmark. It’s great that there’s a Moleskine Shop-in-Shop here now (there are several already across Asia) for Moleskine fans in the Philippines.
“We’ve partnered with National Book Store for the My Pilipinas Moleskine notebook and the My Moleskine Exhibition, and we’ve seen the growth of the Moleskine fanbase in the Philippines,” states Ryan Lai, marketing manager of Working Unit, the official distributor of Moleskine in Asia. “Now we’ve set up our flagship store for loyal Moleskine users, which contains the most complete collection of Moleskine products in the Philippines. It will also showcase our new Moleskine collections and display projects every two months.”
“We believe in the brand and its quality, and we’ve carried Moleskine products in 11 stores since 2008,” states Trina Alindogan, regional manager of National Book Store. “We’ve had to coordinate with Italy for the design guidelines so we could open the first Moleskine shop in the Philippines.”
Here’s something my fellow stationery lovers will love — the newest additions to the Moleskine Folio Professional Collection! (*drool*):
This collection marks Moleskine’s foray into unbound objects: memo cards, folder envelopes, ring binders and loose leaf papers — now that’s office style!!!
(Inkies, these would hit portfolio presentations out of the ballpark too, huh?)

Yes, I believe they do!
