This post comes to you a couple of days after the MIBF, mainly because I was nursing a sore throat and some back pain (I’d blame the haul, but well, haha I regret nothing!), and I wasn’t fit for company (erm, except for a couple of books stashed under my covers).
Anyway, I’m in recovery mode now so here are some other MIBF moments I haven’t documented yet.
With Scholastic Asian Book Award winner Sophia Lee, who gave a speech at the opening
My crazy crew: Kate, Pip and Joyce
Loaded up on Marvy pens with my crafty Flipper sister Ajie. If you’re on my FB,
you’ve probably seen my crafty gang raving about Marvy pens.
I really, really love the drawing brush pen — excellent control and thick-thin flexibility.
Goofing around with Candy Gourlay, who’s in the country for her “Shine” book launch.
We had ice cream at Sebastian’s — read about her ‘dilis shock’ and I took her around the book fair!
More on Shine in another post.
Tailed a TV crew who wanted to cover Lourd de Veyra’s signing (craziest book launch ever,
with security rushing to the scene to stop the ongoing ‘inuman’ LOL).
We also caught Ramon Bautista, and Doraemon and Nobita! :)
Got my copy signed by Rio Alma and my friend Serj!
This one by my friend, Raissa! The ebook won in the 2013 Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards
.Got to meet YA authors Lissa Price and Jennifer E. Smith right before their MIBF signing!
And finally (!), the last of my loot:
All in all a productive book fair, work-wise and haul-wise, though let’s not count the books I managed to bring home.
That ends my book fair reportage for the year, and see you again at MIBF 2015! :)
I thought twice about getting a copy of Woman In A Frame. Now I regret it! (And I feel a certain affinity towards it because heee, panel judge last year.) Awesome stuff you got this year, Blooey! See you again next year! :D
I love Adarna’s new line of YA. Quality stories, and they’re all oh-so-pretty!
