Fully Booked Book Grab 2010

The Book Grab is back!

The Fully Booked flagship store on Bonifacio High Street, a popular lifestyle destination, once again celebrates its anniversary this July. To mark its 3rd year, another Book Grab event is set on July 24, 2010 — incidentally, that’s the same day as the Flips Flipping Pages July book discussion of Fables: Legends in Exile, from 2pm onwards, right there at the Fully Booked Top Shelf (Flippers — we get to watch the Book Grab!).

The mechanics are better this year, too, which makes me seriously considering joining (because being the Ultimate Book Geek is not enough!).

Last year, the event had three contestants, namely: Henry Gula (home-schooling dad), Hope Pangilinan (high school student) and Lesley Leveriza (theater mom). All three raced inside the store within two (2) minutes, as their family and friends cheered them on. Gula finished off with the most number of books and was awarded Top Grabber. He took home special prizes from sponsors and all three went home with certificates, plus plenty of books to add to their collection.

This year, Book Grab promises to become bigger and better! Instead of just three (3) contestants, there will be five (5) contestants to give more customers the chance to be part of this exciting event. The Top Grabber and all the contestants can also look forward to receiving prizes from sponsors: Havaianas, Krispy Kreme, The Spa, VMV, Envirosax and Zaigen Ventures.

To join, customers must submit a creative entry in any of the following formats: Video (1-2 minutes in AVI or MPEG format), Poem or Essay (not exceeding 500 words, must be typewritten or computerized) OR Artwork (Size A2 to A3; may be in the form of but not limited to digital art, painting, charcoal, pencil, paper art, photo collage, etc.).

Entries must play around the theme “Three Things I like about Fully Booked”. Deadline of entries is on July 15, 2010. For more details on the contest, go to http://fullybookedonline.com/bookgrab.

The event will be hosted once again by Ms. Gelli Victor of Monster Radio RX 93.1. Everyone is invited to come because lucky audience members will get the chance to join a mini book grab race on-the-spot! Also, aside from Book Grab, Fully Booked will be revealing something equally as exciting on the day of the event.
