14th Philippine Academic Book Fair opens this week

 

School officials, librarians, teachers, professionals, reviewers, tutors, and book enthusiasts will gather for the 14th Philippine Academic Book Fair,* the annual five-day event sponsored by the Academic Booksellers Association of the Philippines (ABAP) on July 6-10 at the Megatrade Hall, 5th Level, Building B, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

Exhibitors include A-Z Direct Marketing, Academic Book Sales, Alexan Commercial, Ateneo University Press, Book Trends Enterprises, Catholic Book Center, CD Books International, C&E Publishing, Cengage Learning Asia, Claretian Communications Foundation, Creative Minds Book Center, EDCA Publishing and Distributing Corp, Emerald Headway Distributors, Fastbooks Educational Supply, F&J De Jesus, Forefront Book Co., Global Learning Media, Golden Books Services, Goodwill Bookstore, and High Access Line Philippines.

Seminars slated at the Philippine Academic Book Fair include: Formulation of Collection Development Policy in the Philippine Setting by Dr. Teresita Hernandez Calmas, hosted by the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) on Tuesday, July 6, 2:30-6 p.m.; Raising Librarians: Teaching Identity Through Lifelong Learning Modules and Portfolios hosted by the Philippine Association of Academic and Research Librarians (PAARL) on July 7, 1-5 pm; Digital Library Initiatives: Impact and Challenges hosted by the Southern Tagalog Region Library Council (STRLC) on July 8, 10 am- 1pm; Social Media hosted by the Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc. (ACCI), July 8, 3-5 pm. Increasing your Collections with Limited Budget hosted by the Ortigas Center Library Consortium (OCLC), July 9, 1-5 pm; Library Education and Training hosted by the Philippine Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (PATLS). Saturday, July 10, 1-6 pm.
