Reading something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birthday of national hero Jose Rizal, I’ve started reading Ambeth Ocampo’s Makamisa, a book about Rizal’s third (unfinished novel). Just in time, my boss told me on Friday that the original manuscripts of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo would be on display at the National Library for the anniversary, so I blocked off my Saturday and headed over to the exhibit.
Phew, I finally got some free time in front of my laptop, and I’ve just drawn the winners of my latest giveaway!
While I’m busy unpacking, sorting hundreds of trip photos, wading through dozens of emails, slathering Bengay over my ill-abused muscles (from five days of endless walking and an unexpected foot race to catch our flight home!), and reconditioning my mind away from vacation mode (!), here’s some news from National Book Store:
