Here’s another thing my cousin Dianne brought back for me from her trip to New York: A pack of “Great Writers” playing cards! The front looks like a regular deck, but the design on the back features a caricature of famous writers.
Before reading on, can you try guessing who is who?
Top row: Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Dickens, Walt Whitman
Second row: Ernest Hemingway, William Shakespeare, Jack London
Third row: Lewis Carroll, Rudyard Kipling
Bottom row: Alexandre Dumas, James Thurber, George Bernard Shaw.
The caricatures are done by Mike Caplanis
I was quite the cardshark back in college, but I haven’t played much lately, other than the virtual card games. I highly doubt I’ll use this pack, though — too pretty to get creased by constant shuffling! I’ll display it on my bookshelf instead.
Thanks to Dianne for the deck!

I saw a diary naman of Female Writers, same version, on a journal sa Fully Booked. :) It has Woolf and Dickinson, of course, haha. Wala lang. This is cool! You cousins are having a blast. :D
Ahh really? Cool ah, maybe for my next journal.
