Me too! Mas gusto ko parin yung hiwa-hiwalay. Madali lang kasi bilhin yung boxed set kaya gusto ko rin sya XD

Btw, I’m thinking of clearing out my bookcase of books I don’t read anymore. I’ve no time for Bookmooch na, unfortunately (kasi na-complete ko na yung mga gusto kong books lol). I was wondering if you’d take them nalang? Fodder din ng inventory mo E-mail me nalang if you’re interested ^_^

Huwaaaat?!? P80 lang?!?

Last year Tintin prices went up again, currently P399 at Fully Booked and P445 at Powerbooks. Around P345 at National.

Im also salivating over that boxed set at Fully Booked – I love how the spines form together a Tintin illustration. My problem with the smaller volumes (I have a couple of the 3 in 1s) is that the strips are compressed into a smaller size and the text gets hard to read and when I read them I was squinting the whole time.

Im still partial to the large paperback comic books, haha, exactly as I enjoyed them when I was in grade school

You know, I once had all the Tintin books. Except the Soviet one and the Vietnam (parang ngayon ko lang nakita yang Vietnam na yan). I even have a copy of that book na parang short film with the two kids. I remember back in the late 80’s Tintin comics were priced at Php93. Back then, it was my brothers who buy them. I started getting interested in them again in high school, but by then, the prices have gone up to Php 300! Buti nalang I chanced upon the Expressions branch in Farmer’s Cubao that sells them for only Php80, and that’s how I was able to complete the set.

Pero syempre, dahil tanga ako nung high school, pinahiram ko sa mga classmates at teacher ko, kaya ayan, mga lima or anim nalang natira sakin, not in good condition pa.

I’m saving up to buy that boxed set sa Fully booked. The only thing that’s stopping me is that it’s smaller and it’s hard bound.. I want the big books!

I love Tintin! I have the whole st, including the Tintin specials–(the Tintin Companion books). I also have those 3-in-1s, and when I have the money I’ll buy the albums kasi the small one’s hard to read and it cramps Herge’s style.

I love stories about how people discovered Tintin. Everyone has their own unique story but all the stories are about ‘discovering’ Tintin and joy / disappoint felt when out hunting for new books.

At the moment there is no third film planned. The three books ( Crab with the Golden Claws, Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham’s Treasure ) are being condensed into two films.

If the first two are massive successes I’m sure there will be more but at the moment it is just two films.

Update: My copy of Flight 714 arrived today- it’s vintage and a little worse for the wear, but I’m still glad I now have a copy
