Coming up: 24-Hour Read-a-thon
I finally remembered to sign up for Dewey’s 24-hour Read-a-thon, which is set on October 24th 5am Pacific 1pm GMT (erm, Flipper friends, can you tell me what time that is in the Philippines?)
The last read-a-thon was my first, and I think I learned a lot from that, especially in the choice of reading material, so I’m definitely more prepared this time around.
I finished 9 books last time, so this time I’m gunning for 10.
Here’s my list:
1) Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl (children’s book)
2) The Giraffe, the Pelly and Me by Roald Dahl (children’s book)
3) Esio Trot by Roald Dahl (children’s book)
4) Trese vol. 1 by Budgette Tan and Kadjo Baldisimo (graphic novel)
5) Trese vol. 2 by Budgette Tan and Kadjo Baldisimo (graphic novel)
6) Roles by Siege Malvar (YA)
7) Fruits Basket 1 by Natsuki Takaya (manga)
8) How to Insult and Abuse in Classical Latin by Michelle Lovric (novelty book)
9) The Stranger by Albert Camus (thriller)
10) The Very Persistent Gappers of Frip by George Saunders and Lane Smith (illustrated novel)
and 2 standbys:
Vampyre by Gustav de Wolff (novelty book)
and The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde (illustrated novel)
Will I finish all the books in my list? I don’t know, but I certainly mean to try. Not sure I can pull an all-nighter (groan, I wonder when I can ever do that?) but I’ll definitely read for as long as I can.
Cheers to all the read-a-thoners around the globe!

I loved Roald Dahl as a kid, but haven’t read him since. I’m going to have to do that some day.

@Ronnica – I think you’ll have fun reading Roald Dahl again. I’ve never outgrown him.
His adult short story collections are awesome too!
