Bookmarked! makes a cameo

A few  weeks ago, I got an email from a reader inquiring if I would be interested to review her new chick lit novel, Confessions of a Call Center Gal, which was released on Amazon this month.

I told Lisa (whom, by the way, I have never met or made any contact with before) that I was okay with an electronic review copy to load on my Nook. I remember downloading the file from her email message and I remember confirming the receipt and telling her I’d read the book within the next couple of weeks.

Fast forward a bit. So I’ve been reading the novel, and today, at lunch, I was halfway through the book when my eyes virtually popped out of their sockets and I nearly (nearly!) dropped my Nook — I couldn’t believe what I was reading!

(Lisa, pardon me for borrowing a snippet of the page for illustrative purposes):

My book blog appears on Chapter 16, page 165 of an actual book! How cool is that?!?

So I hunt around for that email Lisa sent, and I smack my forehead for my absent-mindedness — she does mention it in her email (i need to get my eyes checked again):

p/s hee-hee, you’ll see that I mentioned your blog in my book

I hopped on over to the blog listed in the brief bio in the book, and Lisa says, in the blog post that announces the release of her book:

A few years ago, I started writing a chick lit novel and in a tiny paragraph, I mentioned a couple of Anthro blogs and non-Anthro blogs that have inspired me and helped me stay inspired to finish my book. Inspiration doesn’t last very long; and I needed to develop the determination and self-discipline to carry on writing once the inspiration dried up. And I admired how all these women in the blogging community put themselves out there and committed to writing every day (or almost every day), even when I’m sure there were days when they just didn’t feel like writing. These women became my daily cup of inspiration. They made me get out of my yoga pants and don pretty Anthro frocks and J.Crew cardis; they made me laugh, reflect, cry, think and shop, shop, shop.

And it tickles me pink that I am, somehow, making some difference with this blog.

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

P.S. I’ve just finished reading Lisa’s book, stay tuned for the review in a couple of days or so.
